Description

In 1998, Porsche history changed forever with the introduction of the 996 and its new water-cooled flat 6. Never before had a 911 engine, other than the infamous 959, been cooled with water, but due to new, stringent emissions regulations, Porsche was forced to develop a new and improved flat 6. The 996 Turbo, which was introduced in 1999, followed the similar recipe Porsche had always adhered to; AWD, a twin turbocharged, Le Mans derived flat 6, and more aggressive styling. The 996 was the first generation Turbo to be fitted with a moving rear spoiler, which automatically rises at 76 mph and lowers at 36 mph. The US spec 996 Turbo made 415hp, and in conjunction with its grippy AWD, the car could do the 0-60 sprint in around 4.2 seconds. The beauty of the 996 iteration was the Turbo was no longer a scary car to drive. While remaining the top of the line in acceleration figures, the Turbo did not suffer from morbid turbo-lag, and could finally put all of its power down while being extremely refined and comfortable on a daily basis.

This 2003 996 Turbo is a two-owner car, driven in spring/summer weather. The car is in excellent condition inside and out, has been serviced regularly and is being sold as service current. The interior looks nearly new.

This example is extremely highly optioned, specified with touches such as an extended leather package (dashboard, armrests, air vents, and full leather seats), complemented by red stitching and seatbelts, and the Porsche crest embossed on the headrests. Other interior options include a carbon fiber trim package, full alcantara headliner, navigation, and a Bose stereo system.

This 996 Turbo is sold with full documentation and a clean CARFAX report.
