Famously named after Enzo Ferrari’s late son, the stylish Dino 246GT debuted as a more powerful version of the original 206 from 1968. It came equipped from the factory with a velvety smooth 2.4 litre Ferrari V6, proving the Dino as a formidable force against period competition. The new Dino could achieve a quick sprint from 0-to-60 mph in a mere 8 seconds, and rounding off at 145 mph in straight line performance. The brisk nature of the car along with the perfect 50/50 mid-engine weight distribution made for a legendary combination of styling & drivability, definitive of the era.
The most desirable 246 was the targa-topped GTS, and this incredibly late, rare US-Spec example is offered retaining the original power windows and factory Borletti A/C. Sold New to Dr. Richard Sternberg of St. Charles, IL, it changed hands a number of years later to a long-time caretaker in New Jersey. The car has had the most recent ownership in Pound Ridge, NY for the last 17-years until being offered at The Cultivated Collector. In fabulous mechanical condition with all records, documentation, tools, and service history present, we are proud to offer one of the nicest and fantastically loved 246GTS we have ever witnessed.
