Description

In 1958, Aston Martin introduced the DB4, a much needed replacement for their MkIII.  This introduction denoted a new chapter in Aston’s post war vehicle production. Manufactured in, what was at time, the brand new Newport Pagnell factory, the DB4 was state of the art from start to finish.  Under the beautiful Italian body work, laid Aston Martin’s new pressed-steel- type frame which would revolutionize the way that their sports coupes would drive.

Originally owned by Mary-Handley Page, a well-known English rally driver, this DB4 had been used by her on a regular basis, making regular trips to the Monte Carlo Rallye. After some time in Page’s hands, the car was sold and was fully restored in England, by its second owner, Brian Haston, who commissioned a full concours-level restoration of the car.  Hatson’s restoration is where the DB4 got its lush, red paint, and cream-colored interior, as well as various other period correct exterior, and mechanical updates. In the early 1980s, the car was shown at a variety of concours events where it received numerous accolades. Until 1987 it continued to win AMOC awards, the plaques for which adorn
the door of the car’s glove. In the fall of 1990, after the car had concluded its time on European soil, it was shipped to sunny, dry, California for the remainder of its life where
it has been a proud member of the Bob Pond collection for 24 years.

What makes this DB4 even more desirable is its many optional extras that were fitted
at the factory, including: rack and pinion steering, four corner Dunlop disc brakes, twin SU-type HD8 carburetors,Amstrong shock absorbers, overdrive, plus Marchal
headlamps and fog lamps. This vehicle is being sold service current with full records
and paperwork included.
